ive just put my ford stereo back in my car so that i can sell it but i don't know the code

 

does any one know what it is normaly set to (ford tape deck

You would have to list the Ser/No and model before anyone could tell you what the corect pin is. :rolleyes:

Justice, how do you know he's not nicked the radio? the whole point of the codes is to stop theft.

Point taken slapped wrist for me.

I had a van that I had brought and whilst changing the battery lost the code, I rang the owners before me but they could'nt help I went onto a forum and asked nice and friendly and was given the software to decode it, I agree you do not know if it was stolen but I would of had to pay

I was down VW today picking up the wrong hose they got for my car,I told the guy that if he had looked at the picture right he would have ordered the right part, he showed me the screen and said there you go thats the pipe it's showing,I clicked the mouse 2 or 4 time going to another page then pionted out to him "That's the pipe" almost the same but not quite he was gobsmacked and added it is ilegal to have it on my home PC so I just added "yeah and" :lol:

I accept that the software is readily available which is a shame, the problem with this one is the user requesting the code was unknown to us etc etc and 'we' apparently fall over ourselves in the fight to give hime the code. just seems mad to me that we're not helping our own security.

Sorry, I don't really see the link to potentially assisting a theif and a slightly funny signature.

Don't worry Justice (pun intended with your handle?), you're not the first to 'help' and I'm sure you wont be the last. It's just the principle of the thing that I was highlighting. No offence intended against you personally just a general point.

The picture in question is already in the public domain, released by VW, VW are very protective of their material and have been known to close down web sites that publish it unauthorised :o I use to use to very large web site that had loads of official VW tech data on it! it no longer exsists! not due lack of interest in it's content but the opposite! it got big, got noticed and got closed down :o even the Russian sites are gone :o dont spoil it for others, this site is a good source of info and help to it's members, it's the biggest and busiest site for this vehicle :o it would be a shame to lose it due to the stupidity of one person :lol: and if you bother to look up the sites rules I'm sure there is a section about what you can and cant post on here!

didn't want to cause a debate , alls i needed was a little help

 

im no thief alls i wanted to do was replace the mp3 player in my scrote with the original unit , which i was never given the code for. i could of paid for this code from the dealership but i decided to ask for a little help

Hey come on guys, this is getting a little out of hand. Justice surely you can see the merits of the discussion i.e. someone who we don't know asks for a radio code and it's freely given from here. It totally defeats the code system. The ONLY point I tried to politely make was that perhaps we should find out a little more about unknowns before being so helpful.

 

Mrnice, chances are you're an ok guy, but surely you can see the merits of the above, no-one accused you of being a theif simply that we don't know you at all.

the thing is, if a thief is stealing radios, surly they would have a copy of this software anyway, i mean its not exactly expensive, and its very easy to get hold of. so, whats the point of the code system?
